In-home Caregiver Education and Support Program* Someone is caring for an aging or chronically ill person in nearly 1/4 of U.S. households. The In-Home Caregiver Education and Support Program provides free in-home education and support to unpaid caregivers so they may improve their ability and effectiveness as caregivers. There are no income or asset eligibility requirements for this program. A registered nurse will meet with the caregiver at their home to conduct an initial assessment and to set up a teaching plan that will help to relieve caregiver stress and increase caregiver effectiveness. Caregivers learn the skills needed to provide proper patient care, disease education, stress management and how to access community resources. Up to five professional home visits may be provided by a registered nurse, physical, speech or occupational therapist, social worker or nutritionist to provide educational and support services. Click here to contact VNANNJ for more information. Or call 1-800-WE-VISIT. Statewide Respite Care Program* Caregiving is an expression of love that is also very demanding and often results in physical, mental and spiritual exhaustion and a sense of being “house-bound.” But there is help for caregivers from VNANNJ Statewide Respite Care Program. * These services are made possible through grants received by the State of New Jersey, Department of Health and Senior Services, County of Morris, Office on Aging and the United Way of Morris County. Eligibility requirements may apply. House Call Groceries for Seniors Program House Call Groceries for Seniors is a unique program providing critical grocery shopping tasks as part of our senior home care services for homebound residents of Morris County — a program greatly appreciated by those caring for aging parents.
