A minimum of 20 hours per week is required, plus a valid drivers license, auto insurance and your own vehicle. VNANNJ aides are required to serve throughout the greater Morris County area of New Jersey. Previous home care experience is not required, but is preferred. All VNANNJ aides work under the direction of our skilled nursing staff and are required to keep records of the tasks they perform for clients.

Personal care is the primary duty of all those working in home health aide jobs:

Personal care – Home health aides must be good at assisting the patient and caregiver with bathing, hair care and shampoo, oral hygiene and denture care, shaving, nail care, assistance with dressing, toileting, catheter or ostomy care, and checking oral temperature, pulse and respirations.

Activities of Daily Living – Assisting a client with walking, with a home exercise program and with taking oral medications are important skills required in home health aide jobs.
• Homemaking Activities – Bed making and linen change, light housekeeping, laundry, plus meal preparation and clean up may all be required of a home health aide.

Companionship and Communication – Socialization, conversation, writing for, or reading to the client and answering the phone are just some of the helpful services provided by our aides.

Chores and Errands – Our home health aides sometimes assist with laundry, cleaners, grocery and pharmacy shopping and accompanying the client to appointments.
