Lillian Biddle, looks forward to visits with volunteer Stephen Rozzelle, and his dog, Pansy, and she always has a special treat for her four-legged guest. Rozzelle, a retired clergy whose daughter, Lauren, is a VNA nurse, enjoys their visits as well.
“My life is energized when I contribute,” he said. “I believe we shouldn’t wait for life to give to us. We should seek opportunities to contribute.” No special skills other than compassion and a desire to help others are required to be a successful Hospice volunteer and the VNA provides free training. |
